Ok, it's rant time! XXD I like ranting about yaoi, because I hate it. I just saw an anti-yaoi club and it inspired me to write this. Here goes:

I hate yaoi. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I mean, I couldn't care less about the actual shojo-aimed yaoi/shounen-ai manga but in a SHOUNEN manga?! C'mon! I dun care about people who like it just for the hell of it and DON'T pass it off as canon; as long as they understand that it's NOT canon, it's all good (I mean, it's not exactly good but...yeah). But when fangirls try to pass of a pairing as CANON, it pisses me off SO BAD! I mean, the fuck is the deal with Yullen?! They look like they're ready to slice the other up and cook him for dinner every time they interact!! AND fangirls think that it's so true and so gonna happen?! IT IS ILLOGICAL!! It'll be a miracle if Kanda even admits openly to Allen being a friend by the end of the series (at least, I think so).

And I would rather not see anything Lavi/Kanda related (where it stretches beyond mere friendship) either. Two male protagonists of a shounen series are gay for one another? I've never come across something like that in canon. Why? Because, as one might expect of a manga serialised in a BOYS' magazine, it is aimed at the majority of BOYS (duh), who, more often than not, are straight. Besides, the hell do people think the cute heroine's there for anyway?! It's to indulge the fantasies of said little boys, no? Though, if you think about it...that's influencing the boys who read it cuz they might think that the girls they go after have to be more like the heroines in their favourite manga...

Ahem, I'm going off on a tangent. Sorry, I hold a small amount of interest in how the media influences people's ideals and such.
Anyway! I could say reams and reams more but my fervour seems to have died down since I started to write this entry so I'll call it quits for now.

One last thing; the amount of yaoi on the net is so fuckin ridiculous; I typed in ANTI-yaoi in google and I still got tons of yaoi results -_-' how lame...
